Corval was the Engineer-of-Record for this Refrigerant Conversion Skid project in Fremont. This project included the engineering, fabrication and installation of a 1,200 ton ammonia refrigeration skid used for process and convenience cooling. Our scope included the design-build skid, distribution piping, and process cooling equipment.
The skid packages consisted of two 14’ wide x 14’ high x 60’ long modules, each weighing more than 100,000 lbs. They were shipped over 500 miles from Corval’s fabrication facility in Atwater, MN to the site in Fremont, MI, including across Lake Michigan by barge. Field installation included setting of the modules using an eight-axle equipment transporter, as well as installation of field run piping, electrical, ventilation, structural steel, and start-up.
